Jesus is critiqued for healing on the Sabbath, because it is work. But, by healing a sick man, Jesus is fulfilling the Sabbath, not breaking it.

I am reading the book Miraculous Abundance, which advocates for local sourcing, autonomy, and self-sufficiency to increase welfare and security. This sounds good, but I think that the Genesis creation narrative presents a different vision: God intended for humans to trust in His provision rather than strive for self-reliance.
