I love life! I love things that are alive and growing. The complexity of how life thrives is amazing, but just enjoying it is pretty simple too! I love fixing broken things, getting my hands dirty in rich soil, enjoying good food, hanging out with friends, and taking things slow.

At the same time, I'm surrounded by reminders of death. Sickness, lack, strife, hurt, greed, betrayal... it can be paralyzing.

But that's why I think I love life so much. Every morning coffee savored with my husband in the early hours of the morning is a little spark of life in a dark world. The spark – whether a sign, a sacrament, a metaphor - is a brief connection with the God of life, who “is above all and through all and in all” (Ephesians 4:6).
